Creating 10 Carat Sapphire was the culmination of inspiration and timing. A stone from Jack Weir and Sons appeared on Instagram and matched my theory on light refraction.

The sapphire relies on color, shape and texture to bring it to life before your eyes. Along with shape, the painting utilizes value to subtly empower the darkest corner of the stone.

10 Carat Sapphire is my most recent thoughts on light through the prism of a stone. Of the collection, it is particularly enigmatic showing it’s value and texture differently at different times of day. Drawing near, the details will hold your gaze. And after walking away, the overall design will draw you in once more.
